Lone Worker Protection
In order to address the problem of lone worker protection it is important to have a clear understanding of what a lone worker is. To be classed as working alone does not mean that the person has to be working in complete isolation all of the time. For example, a handyman may enter a building whilst it is still very busy, but may be left alone to finish their shift. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) defines lone working as
“those who work by themselves without close or direct supervision”.
Others define it as
“A worker whose activities involve a large percentage of their working time operating in situations without the benefit of interaction with other workers or without supervision”.
CTR Services has designed a unique tool to assess if you are a lone worker and the threats that you may be at risk from. Follow the link bellow to open our interactive Lone Worker Risk Estimator, and find out if you are a lone worker and what measures you can take to minimise the risks:

CTR Risk Assessment Service
As an employer, you must assess and manage health and safety risks - whether you are a big business, a small business or just a one-person operation. Accidents and ill health can ruin lives and damage your business. You are not expected to eliminate all risk, but you are required to protect people as far as 'reasonably practicable'. CTR Services can deliver front line risk assessments on your lone workers or train managers and supervisors on how to assess the risks to your lone workers. Don't forget it is your legal duty to provide duty of care to your employees.
CTR Lone Worker Protection Training
As an employer, you must provide adequate training for your lone workers. CTR Services has developed a number of programs from Lone-Safe E-Learning courses to practical seminars that are conducted at your workplace. The programs cater for any industry and are tailored to meet the needs of your employees. Please view our lone worker protection training pages, by clicking here
CTR Lone Worker Protection Services
As CTR Services employs lone workers as part of our commitments to our clients we have also had to fall inside the laws relating to duty of care and as such have developed the CTR SOS Protect Panic alarm system which provide lone workers with the ability to notify supervisors or emergency response teams of their predicament.
