Introduction to the HECPO Training Course
This course has been designed by CTR Services and forms the core competencies for working within Hostile Environments on PSD and Close Protection tasks. Many operatives working within hostile environments or new operatives that want to move into this environment now need to have not only a greater understanding of physical security and specific hostile environment operational procedures but in some cases the SIA license. Our HECPO course has been designed to teach a student the drills, procedures and specific techniques that are required when operating in a close protection role within a hostile environment. The HECPO (Czech Republic) course comprises of 16 days with live fire weapons and simunitions based in the Czech Republic.
Prerequisite for Attendance
The basis of this course is for individuals that want the SIA license and Hostile Environments combined so that it is not only cost effective but also fluent in the delivery to provide a more rounded operative on completion. The course is aimed at:
- Ex Military Resettlement soldiers .
- Civilians with an interest in Close Protection .
- Other Security Personnel Individuals that want to change their career.

So what will you learn on the E-Learning Hostile Protection course?
To make the learning progressive, we have split the course into easy to manage segments so that you learn. This is the first time this type of training has been completed in this way. The segments are detailed below:
Threats (Module 1)
In this module you will cover advanced methods of conducting Risk & Vulnerability Assessments to Threat analysis and security design mythology. The module is started by understanding the range of threats you will encounter within corporate and celebrity environments and takes you through the progressive steps to finally develop a security plan. "Unless you can identify the threat. How can you protect against it?"
Personal Security (Module 2)
Personal Security is a module that looks at the Close protection Operative and principal alike and utilizes the SAFER system. You will develop skills in IT security, Home and Work security procedures for the CPO and client through client education.
Low Level protection (Module 3)
This module is the heart of the course with roles and
responsibilities of the bodyguard and the principals/practices of
working as an individual Close Protection Operative (personal body
cover). It will also cover search awareness (person, vehicle & room,
venue) and venue based security design and implementation.
Escort Section (Module 4)
This module through financial acceptance of the client develops the
individual CPO to work within a team or with a personal escort
section. Teamwork, communications and foot drills will be covered as
well as operational planning and preparation. With the mode of
transport covered you will also learn vehicle techniques.
Security Advance Party (Module
5)
This module concentrates on reconnaissance and route selection of
routes, venues, meetings and all pre advance areas the principal may
visit on a daily, short notice, special or specific visits. You will
learn in detail the needs of prior planning and execution of
detailed planning from a manager’s view.
Conflict Management (Module 6)
Conflict management module covers Law and Legislation for operation
in the UK and the use of force to handle the physical interventions
of a hostile environment. You will develop your interpersonal and
presentation skills through role play, so that you can conduct
yourself in a hostile environment. You will be exposed to common
incidents and dilemmas to which you will have to deal with by use of
communications and conflict management skills we will teach you.
Surveillance (Module 7)
The surveillance module contains the fundamentals of surveillance,
counter and anti so that you understand the principals of conducting
it so that you can avoid it and remain constant with your awareness
drills whilst working within a team environment.
Protective Defence (Module 8)
You will be taught the revolutionary RAID system that is sweeping
the country for its ability to render potential attackers
defenceless whilst keeping within the law and following the use of
force system.
Firearms live fire training (Module
8)
During the firearms phase of training students will be taught all
relevant procedures for operating in a hostile environment as a
close protection operator. This phase is all conducted live fire and
the design from this phase will allow students to live and work from
a simulated forward operating base for the duration of their course.

Multi directional Multi threat contact drills
Fight Back & Fight Through movement drills
Cornering & fighting to cover
Firearms retention
Night shooting & High stress shooting
Client Drills
Extreme close quarter shooting
Situation assessment & Immediate Action drills
Live Final Exercise (Module 7)*
Combined with the practical exercises and the use of live clients
for the real training effect, CTR has developed an unparallel course
to prepare you for future employment development and not just an
operator’s qualification.

Course Dates & Costs:
The 16 Day Czech Residential course is £2950 plus VAT, this includes Flights, Accommodation and Food, Training fees, Examination fees and all associated training costs. The dates are:
