How to find Close Protection Work?

Due to the UK licensing laws and that many service providers based in the UK are operating within hostile environments, they are requiring operatives to hold the SIA license even though they are not working in the UK. The work environment in the UK and Overseas is very competitive and just having a qualification that was cheap and that the training provider is unheard of will not necessarily guarantee you work. You should do your due-diligence on the training providers before attending a course. CTR Services is an operational company foremost that provides 365 24/7 services to our fortune 500 clients and as such we employ operatives that are trained to a standard higher than the SIA license requirements, such as those that train with us. 

Close Protection Work at CTR Services

The operatives that work for or on behalf of CTR Services basically can be on the following terms:

     - P46 (Second employment)

     - Self Employed (must prove you work with other companies).

     - Company lone (where you work and invoice from a limited company)

Our work is 365 days per year and we do have between 2000 – 4000 tasks per year. Most of the work revolves around the telecommunications industry, but we do conduct personal and celebrity protection details. .

The Close Protection Courses for CP Work:

Due to the fact that there are many levels of service you can be engaged upon. CTR Services expects a higher standard than the core SIA criteria, so all our courses are at a standard above, so that we can employ personel that match our criteria. Click on a particular course to learn more:.

Welcome to CTR Protection Training Pages!
The industry in the UK and Overseas has seen a surge in employment over the past years, but it has turned on itself as with the growth of demand comes the growth of training providers seeing the training as a fast buck scheme. When we first started training in 2005 there was originally only 3 training providers CTR Services (us), Phoenix CP and Nemesis Group, now there are over 100 providers some offering the course for as little as £500 pounds for a 10 day course. This has like always pulled the standards down and what we have found is that some of the training providers are offering our courses and not only that they are using our power points, this undermines your training value as one student who left a course last year explained that he was taught our personal security and threat assessment in one day what we take three days to deliver. Even after reporting the said security college to our awarding body there is not allot they can do. This problem now rests with you the students as you should be asking certain questions and doing your due diligence to find the right training provider. 3 areas you should discuss are: 1 - Are you operational. 2 - How long have you been training students and 3 - What work can you provide.
