Close Protection Training

To work within the UK Close Protection Sector you are required by law to have the SIA Close Protection Licence. CTR Services was one of the first registered training providers in March 2006 for the SIA and have been a Quality Approved training provider for Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) and Skills for Security (SfS). CTR was also the pioneer of developing the first foundation degree (FD) in protective security management. We have been training and qualifying Close Protection Operatives for the past 5 years and over 75% of our students have secured work within the industry.

The reason CTR Services had an early presence within the Security Industry Authority and the director being a part of the steering committee, was that since Oct 2003 we have been under permanent 365 day contract to 3 of the largest telecommunications companies in the UK, providing close protection services. This working position within the sector has allowed CTR to develop its yearly tasking to over 3000 CP tasks (2007-2008).

We operate Nationwide and as such require operatives that can not only work alone, but that can conduct accurate threat and risk assessments, make informed on the ground decisions and that are of a standard above the level 3 competency qualification framework; hence we have a maximum number of 8 students on a course to enable the student the perfect learning environment and conduct an internal assessment, to see if that student once granted their license could take up a position with CTR Services Team.
