Close Protection Course (CCPO) (16 days)

Introduction to CCPO Training

The business world is thrawght with security challenges and the need for professional qualified operatives has never been so in demand. CTR Services has been providing Close Protection Services to the corporate industry since 2003 and what we have found, is that our clients expect the very best form of service from our operatives. To this end we have developed an intensive 16 day course dedicated to educating close protection operatives to work within this busy and demanding environment.

About CTR Close Protection Training course

Our SIA Licensed, University accredited course is conducted in a structured manner covering the 15 National Occupational Standards see our (SIA Close Protection). CTR has incorporated them into a 16 day 150 hour progressive learning platform that allows reflective enhanced learning. The course is designed to teach you the theory behind protection and allow you to then conduct the practical. Each module bolts onto the next, starting with you as an individual protection operative and then bolting on the elements of a team as to mimic the financial consent of a client or principal. At the end of the training phase you will undergo a live exercise in which the principal is not a role player. This kind of assessment is unlike many other training companies in that you get a true picture of the corporate world and how the principal sees you as a protection operative.

CTR Corporate Close Protection Course Breakdown:

So what will you learn on the 16 day Corporate Close Protection course?

To make the learning progressive, we have split the SIA core competencies into manageable segments which follow the operational financial commitment made by our existing client base. (In other words working from 1 on 1, to full teams).

Threats

In this module you will cover advanced methods of conducting Risk & Vulnerability Assessments to Threat analysis and security design mythology. The module is started by understanding the range of threats you will encounter within corporate and celebrity environments and takes you through the progressive steps to finally develop a security plan. “Unless you can identify the threat? How can you protect against it”.

Personal Security

Personal Security is a module that looks at the Close protection Operative and principal alike and utilizes the SAFER system. You will develop skills in IT security, Home and Work security procedures for the CPO and client through client education.

Low Level Protection

This module is the heart of the course with roles and responsibilities of the bodyguard and the principals/practices of working as an individual Close Protection Operative (personal body cover). It will also cover search awareness (person, vehicle & room, venue) and venue based security design and implementation.

Escort Section

This module through financial acceptance of the client develops the individual CPO to work within a team or with a personal escort section. Teamwork, communications and foot drills will be covered as well as operational planning and preparation. With the mode of transport covered you will also learn vehicle techniques.

Security Advance

This module concentrates on reconnaissance and route selection of routes, venues, meetings and all pre advance areas the principal may visit on a daily, short notice, special or specific visits. You will learn in detail the needs of prior planning and execution of detailed planning from a manager’s view.

Conflict Management

Conflict management module covers Law and Legislation for operation in the UK and the use of force. You will develop your interpersonal and presentation skills through role play, so that you can conduct yourself in a corporate or celebrity environment. You will be exposed to common incidents and dilemmas to which you will have to deal with by use of communications and conflict management skills we will teach you.

Surveillance

The surveillance module contains the fundamentals of surveillance, counter and anti so that you understand the principals of conducting it so that you can avoid it and remain constant with your awareness drills whilst working within a team environment.

Protective Defence

Due to the fact that you are not legally allowed to carry firearms or weapons in the UK, you will be taught the revolutionary RAID system that is sweeping the country for its ability to render potential attackers defenceless whilst keeping within the law and following the use of force system.

Live Final Exercise

Combined with the practical exercises and the use of live clients for the real training effect, CTR has developed an unparallel course to prepare you for future employment development and not just an operator’s qualification.

Welcome to CTR Protection Training Pages!
The industry in the UK and Overseas has seen a surge in employment over the past years, but it has turned on itself as with the growth of demand comes the growth of training providers seeing the training as a fast buck scheme. When we first started training in 2005 there was originally only 3 training providers CTR Services (us), Phoenix CP and Nemesis Group, now there are over 100 providers some offering the course for as little as £500 pounds for a 10 day course. This has like always pulled the standards down and what we have found is that some of the training providers are offering our courses and not only that they are using our power points, this undermines your training value as one student who left a course last year explained that he was taught our personal security and threat assessment in one day what we take three days to deliver. Even after reporting the said security college to our awarding body there is not allot they can do. This problem now rests with you the students as you should be asking certain questions and doing your due diligence to find the right training provider. 3 areas you should discuss are: 1 - Are you operational. 2 - How long have you been training students and 3 - What work can you provide. If you are considering a career in Close Protection then call us and arrange a visit to an open day in London to speak to our management team.
