Continual Professional Development

CTR Services, has a unique continual professional development program, which was designed at first to provide the company operatives with career development. It was this idea which now plays host to many operatives external to our company that wish CTR to provide academic qualification programs to enhance their own chosen career.

CTR continual professional development (CPD) program has been incepted since our managing director Tremaine Kent sat with the Bucks New University to get the first foundation degree in protective security management approved for delivery and accepted as a professional qualification. This then starts and makes our professional development program one that no other company provides.

All of our Level 3 qualifications provide the academic edge to back existing or new experience so that individuals portfolio's can prove experience and academic qualification. The courses we offer range from Corporate Close Protection (CCPO), Hostile Environment Close Protection (HECPO), Telecommunications Close Protection (TCPO), Surveillance and Intelligence Operators (SIO), Hostile Intelligence Operators (HIOC), Hostile Environment Firearms (HEFCO), Rapid Action Initiated Self Defence (RAID), Protective Driving (PDC) and Private Investigators (PI) courses.

Accreditation

Welcome to CTR Professional Development!
CTR Services Continual Professional Development pioneered the first Protective Security Management Foundation Degree. When the Security Industry Authority SIA decided to introduce licensing laws within the UK, CTR Services became members of the steering committee to design the National Occupational Standards with 15 other like minded companies. CTR Services partnered with the BCUC with two other companies, Nemesis and Phoenix to become the first company’s in the UK to provide the licensed Close Protection Qualification in 2005. Since then there has been an accelerated growth of training providers providing this course due to the demand and the fact that companies want to earn a living from training. In fact it has now been recorded that 3 of such companies have copied CTR’s Course, but still don’t deliver the required standards. CTR Services will not challenge such groups with intellectual property as we believe it is down to the student’s due-diligence to check out the company they wish to train with. One thing is for sure and that is every month we receive emails and CV’s from those students that have been promised the world and have been trained by a so called copycat, our reply is simple NO. We provide continual professional development to past students and mainly to our employees in which we give our committed operatives a new qualification course at least once a year.

Within 3 months there will be about 5 or 6 companies that will copy our courses and represent themselves in the same manner as CTR Services. This Copycat situation has been apart of our industry for many years and it shows a clear lack of Operational Knowledge and Imagination. We hope that most of you reading this will check to see what operational experience the company has before embarking on a new career.
